The Artist (Me)

I love chipping away at what doesn't belong to reveal something new and interesting. It's just how I see things. I like to start from a wall of black, and that probably lends a Gothic touch to the work, and I like that. It's probably how I express that side of me because most people who know me wouldn't think I'm Gothic, maybe weird, but not Gothic.

Scratchboard 

It's a form of engraving, you start with a board that has a layer of deep black ink that you scratch away with a knife to reveal a layer of white clay board. It was popular in the 30s and 50s with newspapers and medical illustrations.
